Catching Fire

Catching Fire, the 391 page sequel to The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, continues the story of Katniss's very action filled life. When Katniss finally returnes to her home in district 12 she is know all over Panem, the country, for she and Peeta were the winners of the hunger games. As Katniss's atempt to spare her's and Peeta's life she and Peeta pretend to commit suissude so they can both live, the action is interperated as rebelion in the other districts and provides a spark. This spark makes rebellions from the district against the capitol happen. President Snow personally threatens Katniss to fix it and make it look like it was an act of love not rebellion. Will Katniss succeed in her new mission? I recomend this book to every one.

In the arena Katniss did her best to stay alive, and along the way there is a rule change so that she and Peeta could stay alive and she had to maitain the star-crossed lover title so she set out to find him. When Katniss finally found him he had blood-poisoning,burns,and  tracker-jacker stings Katniss needed to heal soon or he would die. Will Katniss and Peeta stay alive? This is what the slides say in case you can't read very fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Abraham was the founder of the Hebrew culture and religion, Judaism. Judaism is monotheistic: the belief in only one god.
Moses was a great leader and lawgiver of the Hebrews, who led them out of the Egyptian pharaoh's clutches to safety. This was the exodus, a departure usually of a large number. The exodus caused the Diaspora, the spreading of the Hebrews.
The ten commandments are a set of rules for living and for worship god revealed to Moses on Mt. Sinai.
The Torah is the entire body of Jewish religious literature, law and teachings, contained in the Old testament and the Talmud. The Talmud is the collection of Jewish law and tradition consisting of the Mishnah and the Gemara.
A synagogue is a place used for religious worship and instruction. Rabbi and prophets often work in the synagogue: the rabbi delivers the sermon at religious services and performs ritualistic pastoral, educational, and other functions in and related to their capacity as a spiritual leader of Judaism and the Hebrew community. The prophet speaks and guides the people of Israel.
David was the second king of Israel and organized the Jewish tribes into a national state. David's son Solomon also became a king and was famous for his great temple which he had built in Jerusalem.
Dead Sea Scrolls were used for recording all of the Hebrews knowledge.
Zealots were warriors that rebelled against Romans because they did not believe in there being more than one god.
Hebrew holidays are: Chanukah, Yom Kippur, Rosh Hashanah, and Passover. Chanukah ,the feast of lights, is a holiday celebrated in the month of December and is eight days longs. Chanukah commemorates the victory of the Hebrews in the second century.  Yom Kippur is a Jewish high holy day of fasting to atone sins. Rosh Hashanah marks the beginning of the Jewish new year. Passover is a festival that celebrates the exodus of the Hebrews from Egypt.
Some Language of the Hebrews is Yiddish:

My Magician's Nephew Soundtrack

This is my Magician's Nephew Soundtrack.
These are my songs and why I choose them.
My Magician’s Nephew Soundtrack:
1. Rom Des Princesses: I choose this song because it reminded me of Digory looking over the wall between Polly and his house. Also it is a quiet and peaceful song so it reminds me of friendships and new beginnings.
2. Liebestram : I choose this song because the piano solo reminded me of continuous growing and it is very peaceful like the Wood Between the Worlds. This song is also very calming that I could go to bed with it on it makes me feel almost like you would in the Wood (Dreamy).
3. Hungarian Rhapsody No. Six: I choose this song because it is very lively almost like something is coming alive. If this song were in The Magician’s Nephew I would have this play when Jadis were slowly coming alive. Then when the witch begins to tell her story the music gets louder then comes to a stop.

4. The White Witch: I choose this song because I just had to use it. The piece of music fits so perfectly with when Jadis tells Digory and Polly about what she did, about the Deplorable Word. Near the end of the song they find out how evil Jadis really is and that she wants to rule Earth.
5. Danse Infernal Du Roi Kastchei: I choose this song because it reminds me of the panic when Digory and Polly try to escape the Jadis and leave her in Charn .
6. Introduction, Firebird: I choose this song because it makes me think of Jadis in the Wood between the Worlds, weak and sickly looking.
7. The Poet and the Peasant: I choose this song because it made me think of Digory waiting for Jadis to come back with Uncle Andrew. Then Down the street they come with a huge mob following them.
8. Nabucco Overture: I choose this song because this could be Aslan’s song that created Narnia because it has light and dark tempos’ and sounds’.
9. Symphony Number Five: I choose this song because it gives me the picture of Fledge(Strawberry ) growing wings and learning how to fly.
10.             Wedding March from Midsummer Night’s Dream: I choose this song because I thought it would be a good happy closer. The song expresses happiness and gets everyone in a cheery spirit.

The Secret of Red Gate Farm

In The Secret of Red Gate Farm ,a 178 paged mystery novel by Carolyn Keene ,Nancy Drew, the main character, finds herself involved in a counterfeiting mystery. She doesn't know where the counterfeiters are hiding or passing the fake money. When Nancy's new friend Jo invites her to Red Gate Farm,Nancy investigates the strange nature cult that is living theren and discovers they are the counterfeiters! This book's conflict is mainly character vs. society.

The Secret of Red Gate Farm is character vs.Society. When Nancy finds  a new clue she doesn't know who she can trust so she is in this alone vs.everybody else. Also when Nancy finds out where the counterfeiters are hiding the counterfeiters take her captive and there is no one to help her.Nancy Drew in The Secret of Red Gate farm is character vs. society because nancy is in it alone.
